Her story
She doesn’t round up.
Elizabeth’s standards were set at West Point, where she earned her BS in Economics — and where close enough never counted as correct. The discipline and accountability drilled in there still drive how she works today: every transaction accounted for, every balance verified, every report ready to stand up to scrutiny.
An MBA from the University of Colorado and years in business operations taught her how companies actually run — and how quietly their finances can fall apart. Consulting with small business owners, she kept meeting the same person: a smart, capable owner flying blind because the books couldn’t tell the story of the business.
That is the problem she loves to solve. As founder of Poised Books, Elizabeth has guided many business owners through the cleanup and setup of their financial accounting files, and she consults with other bookkeepers on growing and maintaining successful practices. A certified bookkeeping instructor and charter member of the Digital Bookkeeping Association, she stays ahead of every industry change — and makes sure her clients can keep their own books clean long after the engagement ends.
